Scutellaria lateriflora / Mad-dog Skullcap


A low plant of wooded wetlands and marshy meadows with diminutive but profuse flowers. An lovely accent for a moist, shaded garden. Mad-dog skullcap is used by herbalists as a mild sedative, promoting sleep and reducing anxiety.

Once thought to be a rabies treatment, hence the name.
