Mertensia virginica / Virginia Bluebells


A stunning spring ephemeral often found in colonies along the banks of streams and rivers. Versatile and hardy in part shade and fertile soil.

This plant is perennial and is a spring ephemeral — Bluebells go completely dormant after setting seed. Foliage emerges in spring.

NOTE: After approximately mid-May, these are available in pots as dormant root-stock.
