Claytonia virginica / Spring Beauty


This sweet early blooming forest wildflower forms large drifts over time. It can also recruit and persist in lawns, one of the only spring ephemerals that can do so. The corms are edible and are sometimes dubbed “fairy spuds”. Cute!
