Carex rosea / Rosy Sedge

This perfectly mounding woodland sedge has fine foliage and starry little seed clusters which turn “rosy” with time. Sedges are the perfect matrix for planting woodland herbs into or underplanting trees and shrubs with. They funnel moisture into the ground and knit the soil together with their fibrous root systems.
