Field Class & Classroom
Total Time: 6 hours
Led By Jared Rosenbaum (Wild Ridge Plants, LLC) and David Hughes, RLA (Weatherwood Design, LLC)
Convert a lawn to a wildflower meadow or restore a field to a diverse, bountiful native habitat. This class will explore meadow ecology and creation, including site preparation, plant selection, seeding and planting, and maintenance.
Outdoors, we’ll discuss meadow ecology, species, and interactions. Indoors, we’ll cover the nuts and bolts of planning and implementing your own prairie-style restoration, on scales small and large.
The class will be co-taught by Jared Rosenbaum of Wild Ridge Plants, LLC, a native plant nursery and stewardship consulting firm, and David Hughes RLA of Weatherwood Design, LLC, a landscape architecture firm specializing in native landscapes.
